EEOC Webinar: Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Overview
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Webinar: EEOC Overview
Presented by Debra Finney, EEOC Memphis District
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, transgender status, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.
Preventing employment discrimination from occurring in the workplace in the first place is preferable to remedying the consequences of discrimination. The EEOC is committed to providing training, technical assistance, outreach and education programs on any matter related to EEO laws. The EEOC believes that discrimination can be averted if organizations and individuals know their rights and responsibilities.
