The Mayme Carmichael School Organization Annual Banquet
The Mayme Carmichael School Organization, Inc. will host their sixth annual banquet and fundraiser on Saturday August 24 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Oak Ridge.
Clinton 12 legend and co-author, Mrs. Jo Ann Allen Boyce will be the guest speaker. This years event will center around the movement that force the implementation of the landmark decision, Brown vs. Board of Education in Topeka.
This event will be full of fun and excitement with doors opening at 5 pm for Mrs. Boyce's promotional book signing. At 6 pm guests will enjoy musical entertainment by The Connection Band of Nashville, dinner and a live auction.
Along with Mrs. Boyce the organization is excited to welcome back Rep. Dale Carr (Sevierville) as the auctioneer and emcee this year.
A limited number of tickets are available for the price of $50 per person and $500 for a table of 10 guests. Proceeds go toward the 2019 goal to raise $150,000 for the completion of the Oliver Springs African-American Museum, located in the old Tri-County Mall complex in Oliver Springs.
