The Chamber Workshop Series - Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events
Learn how to be prepared in the event of an active shooter opening fire in your workplace. Both business owners and employees will be able to benefit from this class in which important and life-saving self defense skills will be taught. Chief Danny Wright and the Rockwood Police Department will be here to help teach this special course, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE), designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT).
The CRASE course provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics covered include:
- The history and prevalence of active shooter events
- The role of professional guardians
- Civilian response options
- Medical issues
- Drills
