2020 Freedom Fund Banquet
The NAACP Roane County Branch 5626 and Greenwood School Education Foundation invite you to the 2020 Freedom Fund Banquet, which will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at Roane State Community College in Harriman. The money raised at this event is vitally important to help both the NAACP and GSEF with their missions within Roane County and East Tennessee. The theme of this year's banquet is We Fight, We Win, and Tearsa Smith, WATE Good Morning Tennessee anchor, will be the mistress of ceremonies.
Our keynote speaker will be Lakenya Middlebrook, Esq., who is a native of Knoxville. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Kentucky and Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She is a member of the Bar in Tennessee and practices law in Knoxville, serving families in crisis and supporting the organizational development of non-profits and small businesses. In addition to her practice, LaKenya has developed and directed programs in the non-profit sector and provides coaching in cultural awareness in the private sector.
Shabre' Eskridge will be our youth speaker. She is one of twelve Harriman High School students in Roane State’s Middle College program. It allows high school students to take college classes in their junior and senior years, then graduate with both a high school diploma and RSCC associate degree.
