Job Fair on June 17 at Roane State Expo Center

Kingston, TN – The Roane County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Job Fair on June 17, to recruit employees for area businesses and industries.  The Job Fair will be held at the Exposition Center at Roane State Community College from 3-7 p.m.  The Roane State Exposition Center is at 276 Patton Lane, Harriman, Tennessee.

This event will allow employers to meet job seekers face-to-face and have the opportunity to receive resumes and completed job applications, schedule interviews, and have applications on-file from job seekers.

Some of the employers participating in the event include Albahealth, Bridge At Rockwood, Crete Carrier Corporation, C.R. Barger and Sons, CVS Health, Emory Valley Center, Express Employment Professionals, Harriman Care & Rehabiliation Center, Kimble-Chase Life Science and Research, Lowe's Home Improvement, Malibu Boats, Michael Dunn Center, Monterey Mushrooms, Morgan County Correctional Complex, Mountain Staffing, NetShape Technologies, Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), Omnisource / Carlisle Transportation, Pattersons Home Appliance Center, Premier Solutions International, Quality Home Health, Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service, Silver Angels Roane, SL Tennessee, and Staffmark.  Representatives from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology – Harriman, Roane State Community College, and King University will also be participating.  More employers continue to sign-up to participate as the event gets closer.

“There is no cost for employers or job seekers to participate in this Job Fair,” said Allen Lutz, the Education and Workforce Development Specialist for the Roane Alliance. “Participation in this event is ‘no cost’ thanks to its cosponsors:  Roane County Chamber of Commerce, Roane County News, Morgan County News, Roane State Community College, and Roane State Adult Education through the Critical Needs Grant.  We are here to provide a service to our community – job seekers and employers.”

In additional to meeting with employers, job seekers will be able to attend free classes about resume writing and job interview skills while at the Job Fair.  The classes are sponsored by the Roane County United Way and the Tennessee College of Applied Technology – Harriman.

Employers participating in the Job Fair will have an 8’×8’ space with a 6-foot (or larger) table and two chairs.  Earlier registrations may receive priority if all available spaces are filled. Registration requests are as asked to be submitted by June 5.
