The Lighting of Mary's Tree

Each year citizen's of Harriman and Roane County gather at the Temperance Building on N. Roane Street to pay tribute to the memory of lost loved ones and revered citizen, Mary Elizabeth Harback.  

Ornaments are hung to represent the memory of loved ones and celebrate the memory of Mrs. Harback, a council woman, Vice Mayor, mother, wife and friend.

This tradition was started by Mayor Wayne Best and this holiday event held in Historic Downtown Harriman signifies the official start of the Christmas Season in Harriman, TN.
