Learn how to be prepared in the event of an active shooter opening fire in your workplace. Both business owners and employees will be able to benefit from this class in which important and life-saving self defense skills will be taught. In partnership with Sheriff Jack Stockton of the Roane County Sheriff's Office, FBI Special Agent Scott Johnson will be here to help teach this special course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in 2004. This course provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics covered include: The history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of professional guardians, civilian response options, medical issues, and drills.
