DESCRIPTION:Do you love filmmaking? Or maybe you're ready to try your hand at it. Roane State Community College (RSCC) is holding a Film Festival open to all high school students in Roane County and all RSCC students. \n\n\n\nFilm screenings\, filmmakers Q&A\, and awards presentation will be open to the public and held at the Princess Theatre on Saturday\, March 25\, 2023.\n\n\n\nThis year's theme is obsession! Each film submitted to the Roane State Film Festival must relate to this theme. Each filmmaker may choose their own genre\, including but not limited to drama\, horror\, comedy\, action and science fiction.\n\n\n\nRules for Filmmakers:\n\n Entrants are responsible for recording\, editing and submitting their own films.\n Entrants are responsible for the safety and liability of themselves and any cast or crew during the recording and editing processes.\n Finished films must be between 1 - 5 minutes in duration.\n Films must be an interpretation of the current year's film festival theme. For 2022-2023 the theme is obsession. \n Films must be submitted by 6 pm Eastern time on March 1\, 2023. Video files should be submitted in 16X9\, ideally at least 1920X1080\, as MOV or MP4 files.\n To qualify for submission this year\, your film must have been completed between September 1\, 2022 and March 1\, 2023.\n Submissions will be accepted from current Roane State students (taking at least one class in the current academic year) and current high school students in Roane County\, TN (public\, private or home-school).\n Limit one entry per filmmaker.\n There is no cost to submit a film.\n No copyrighted music is permitted in a submitted film unless the entrant secures permission from the copyright holder.\n Entrants retain ownership and control of their own films. Roane State Film Festival committee members and judges will not share films online publicly without approval from the filmmakers.\n Each film's content should meet Roane State and community standards. Keep it G\, PG or PG-13.\n The judging period will be March 1-20\, 2023. Films will be judged on directing cinematography and editing\, with separate categories for high school entries and college entries. \n\nIf you plan to enter a film\, you must register by February 15\, 2023.
