We are looking for a maintenance technician to support the MPP Rockwood Division. The successful candidate will be expected to
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make the necessary adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facility.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Responsible for installing power supply, conduit and wiring for currently installed equipment and machines including programmable controllers while adhering to blueprints, electrical ethics, utilizing voltage tester and hand tools.
• Welding experience (MIG & ARC)
• Must be able to operate ALL equipment in their areas of responsibility and fill in as required.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
This position requires a high degree of initiative, technical capacity, ethical conduct, communication and the ability to product results.
It is an active job and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 25lbs.
Preferred Experience: High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent number of years and production maintenance experience. 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical with some PLC experience.
This position requires overtime and the ability to work some nights, weekends and holiday. State driver’s license and good driving record are required.
