The Rockwood Facility, a powdered metal site, has an opening for a Production Supervisor on 2nd shift (3:30pm – 12:00am). In this role, the production supervisor is responsible for leading production associates to achieve operational goals across multiple processes to meet on-time delivery. The position executes the production plan, allocates job assignments, maintains timelines and ensures parts are produced efficiently and on schedule. The Production Supervisor’s main objective is to create a safe, productive work environment that produces quality products and meets customer demands.
 

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day direction and leadership to the department
  • Execute production plan by establishing priorities, scheduling, delegating workloads and adjusting assignments as necessary
  • Monitor department performance metrics and take appropriate actions to driveresults
  • Conduct regular process audits to verify product quality and standardwork compliance
  • Improves work processes through continuous improvement initiatives by developing, implementing and supporting solutions / strategies to increase productivity, reduce scrap and improveoperations
  • Evaluate associate performance and provide regular feedback; recognize strong performers, coach poor performances and take disciplinary action when needed
  • Engage in hiring decisions and new hire orientation
  • Assist in the coordination of associate training to meet production requirements, build skill flexibility and promote personal development
  • Prepare and submit reports on a daily basis
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Work closely with other department to meet site operation goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and upper management
 

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or related years of experience
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement
  • Able to analyze performance metrics and develop improvement plans
  • Strong root cause analysisand problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to effectively confront and resolve conflict
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and achieve results through others
  • Proven metric-based track record
  • Exceptional computer skills: MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
