DESCRIPTION:Teacher's Supply Closet\n\nSponsored by Roane County United Way and Roane State\n\n\n\nRoane County United Way has agreed to organize the annual Teacher's Supply Closet. Teacher's Supply Closet is  a project\, collecting school supply items and monetary donations to help Roane County school teachers and their students. Once items have been collected\, teachers then "shop" for free at one central location.\n\n\n\nUntil this year\, the Roane Alliance had organized the Teacher's Supply Closet as part of their education and skilled workforce development through the Chamber of Commerce. \n\n\n\nBoxes for item donations are located throughout the county in area businesses. Items frequently needed for classrooms include: pencils\, pens\, staplers and staples\, three-hole punchers\, dry-ease markers and cleaner\, crayons\, ruled writing paper\, hand sanitizer\, paper towels\, markers\, scissors\, tape\, tissues\, glue sticks\, sticky note pads\, construction paper\, rubber bands\, folders\, band-aids\, tennis balls\, binders\, calculators\, tri-fold project boards\, and backpacks. Excess office supplies and equipment in good working order will be accepted.  Donations will be collected through September 22nd. This year's "shopping" event for Roane County school teachers will be on September 24th starting at 4:30 pm at Roane State Community College. \n\n\n\nIf you would like more information or how to donate to the Teacher's Supply Closet\, please call the Roane County United Way at 882-7711.
