SUMMARY:Kids First Child Advocacy Center Annual Dinner and Auction
DESCRIPTION:Kids First CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER TO HOLD ANNUAL \n\nDINNER AND AUCTION FUNDRAISER JUNE 2 \n\n\n\nKids First Child Advocacy Center of the Ninth Judicial District will hold its annual dinner and auction fundraiser on Tuesday June 2\, 2015. The theme for this year's event is "A Child's Voyage...from Victim to Survivor". The event will be held at the Tellico Village Yacht Club where beautiful Tellico Lake\, with its natural beauty and visual appeal\, will serve as the backdrop for this important occasion. Those attending will be treated to a delightful evening with musical entertainment by The Top Notes\, a 20-piece community band that plays swing hits of Benny Goodman\, Count Basie\, Woody Herman and other greats of the 40's. This is a special chance to hear these skilled musicians entertain with music from an era when swing was a "must" at every prominent social event. The ever popular Wine Grab Bag and the Heads or Tails Necklace game will be featured again this year. Silent and live auctions will offer a wide selection of items\, and guests will enjoy wine tasting and food stations serving up a bountiful menu. \n\n\n\nTickets are $100 per person and can be reserved through Denise at the Kids First Child Advocacy Center by calling 865.986.1505\, by email at ddubrule@cac9jd.org\, or by sending a reservation request and payment to the Child Advocacy Center\, PO Box 928\, Lenoir City\, TN 37771 . All major credit cards and Pay Pal are accepted. \n\n\n\nThose who are unable to attend the June 2 event but wish to support the work of the CAC may designate their contributions to Kids First programs such as Therapy\, Family Therapy\, Operations\, or to the Endowment Fund. The support of donors and sponsors is needed to help make the event a success and to further the CAC's mission to "Heal the Pain of Child Abuse". Checks should be made payable to Child Advocacy Center. Donations may also be made by credit card and PayPal.\n\n\n\nThis year's fundraiser will focus on a child's voyage from victim to survivor. The overwhelming majority of children served by Kids First were victims of sexual abuse. Through the services of Kids First \, highly trained and skilled professionals help abused and neglected children find the courage to tell their stories and to gain faith that that their stories will be believed. In this way\, children can experience healing from the pain of child abuse. They become free of shame and secrecy as they grow in understanding that what has happened to them is not their fault. They become free to flourish and to experience happy and productive lives. They journey from victim to survivor. \n\n\n\nDefinition of Sur-vi-vor: "A child who endures adversity\, moves through it\, and perseveres\; a child with resiliency who remains undefeated."
